Charles Philip Brooks
February 8, 2016- March 4, 2016
Charles Philip Brooks lives and works in the Pacific Northwest and on the North Carolina coast. He studied privately at the studio of Paul Ingbretson and with Dennis Sheehan.
Brooks’ work dually represents his fascination with the properties of the paint he is using and expressionism as a means to evoke emotion. “I am as much moved by the tradition of the act and sacrament of painting as by the finesse and arrangement of colors.” Says Brooks. In search of transcendental contact with the landscapes he paints, he uncovers the beauty in nature and in the act of painting itself.
